The application package consists of the instruction guide and all the forms that need to be completed. Use the instruction guide and document checklist to ensure you get everything with our experts when submitting your documents online. Select the appropriate application package for your situation:

(i) Adult (age 18 or older)

(ii) Parent or guardian applying for a minor (under age 18)

(iii) Minor without a Canadian parent applying alone

(iv) An adult who served with the Canadian Armed Forces

(v) Adoption by a Canadian citizen

NIVC will provide all electronic forms once your related documents and application are received at our online submission portal. The documents that are needed for this category (vary case-by-case) are (i) Signed electronic copies of the citizenship form, (ii) electronic copies of the travel documents and passport(s), (iii) Physical presence calculator, (iv) Representative Form-imm5476e, (v) Landed immigration form in Canada, (vi) recent digital photos meeting citizenship specifications, (vii) Document checklist, (viii) other necessary documents such as birth certificate(s), dependant information (if applicable), divorce certificate and legal separation agreement (if applicable), marriage certificate (if applicable), and use of a representative form etc. if applicable.

The first step for citizenship application is to register yourself at https://nsricvisa.ca/registration/ and upload all necessary documents. Then the NSRIC expert team will evaluate the candidate’s documents. NSRIC completes the process in three steps:

(i) Initial review upon receipt of documentation.

(ii) Submission of the application for an appeal.

(iii) Follow up on the application citizenship test and interview.
