Study Permit (i.e., student visa)
Any qualified student planning to study in Canada may apply for a study permit (i.e., a student visa) through the NSRIC immigration and visa consulting (NIVC). It is noted that after arriving and joining the study program, students can work 20 hours per week and full-time jobs during the summer. The study permit visa is divided into five major categories such as:
- Schooling visa along with one parent
- Self-funded university student visa
- Student visa supported by student loan
- University graduate student visa with scholarships
- Vocational and diploma college student visa
The general required documents for study permits (Note: vary study permit type and case-by-case. So, review your desired sub category for specific requirements) include:
Curriculum vitae (CV) or resume
Educational documents (i.e., diplomas, degrees, certificates, transcripts etc.)
Electronic copies of the travel documents and passport(s)
National ID card
Police certificates and clearances
Proof of required language proficiency such as IELTS, TOEFL score etc
Proof of funds to support yourself and study including student loan documents
Statement of purpose (SOP)
A research proposal
Three academic references
Recent digital passport-sized photographs
Valid medical exams (may be completed later but before applying for visa)
Educational documents for schooling visa (i.e., school transfer certificate, school transcript, etc.)
(xiv) Student’s immunization certificate e.g., vaccine certificate(s), reports for schooling visa
School transcripts for the last two years for schooling visa
Other necessary documents such as birth certificate(s), dependant information (if applicable), divorce certificate and legal separation agreement (if applicable), marriage certificate (if applicable), and use of a representative form etc if applicable

The first step for a study permit visa is to register yourself at https://nsricvisa.ca/registration/ and upload all necessary documents. Then, the NSRIC expert team will evaluate the candidates’ documents. NSRIC completes the process in four steps:
Initial assessment upon receipt of all documents
Application for a letter of acceptance from a Canadian university
An application for a study permit (i.e., student visa)
Preparation for an interview with a visa officer (including biometrics, medical examinations etc if applicable depending on nationality)
